In the United States, 1.3 women are raped every minute.
That results in 78 rapes each hour, 1872 rapes each day,
56160 rapes each month and 683,280 rapes each year.

1 out of every 3 American women will be
sexually assaulted in her lifetime.

What is even more worrying to me is the thought that for every man who rapes there must be many who would rape if it were not such a major crime, or would rape if they thought they could get away with it socially.

These men, the rapists, and the many more who have a nugget of rape in their thoughts, see women as sex objects and nothing else.

Devotional Sex is the opposite of this mentality. The Tantric component of Devotional Sex says that even some play with a friend is about connection. Connection is what is missing in most porn. (Connection is one thing I look for when choosing photos for this blog.)

It seems that for many people a woman who enjoys her sexuality is a slut, sex is dirty, and deep down sex is something to be ashamed of. For many part of their excitement of sex derives from breaking the taboos of respectability. They think they are loosing their inhibitions if they talk dirty (e.g. “Fuck my cunt harder!).

For me a woman who enjoys her sexuality is a Goddess, sex is good, and sex is never something to be ashamed of. Part of Devotional Sex is breaking away from chaste respectability and becoming comfortable enjoying erotic relaxation (e.g. A Princess having her naked Knight sit at her feet and give her a foot massage). And with Devotional Sex not only do I encourage slow and sensual instead of fast and disconnected, but I use new words to talk about sex which have no negative associations (e.g. Desire for penis, and Pleasure for vagina).

What needs to change is not just better policing and more convictions, but how men think about women.
